P.s. You assholes who think you know everything about snakes didn’t consider that the ball python was there first, and the boa was a baby when he came into the situation, he hasn’t eaten him in 4 years and both are fed well and on time each time. Its not bad to have them in the same cage.
I’m not stupid. And I’m not an animal abuser or any of the BS. So stop being douches.

For anyone with common sense- DO NOT house two different species together.

My life the past 4 months

Sooooo. I graduated in December with a bachelors in psychology. Then in January I interviewed for 1 job on my birthday. Yes, 1 job… and I got it. I’ve been working there ever since. I’m happy to say that I’m working in my field and I absolutely LOOOOVE it! I’m a foster home coordinator. Which just means that I offer support to foster parents and group home providers. We basically find placements for children taken in by the Department of Human Services. Yeah, it’s pretty intense shit. :)

Currently, I have about 10 families, with about 3 children in each, and 1 group home FULL of teenage boys. OMG, I never realized just how dramatic teenage boys are. Anywho, I’m having so much fun in my job.

Thank you for asking! I’m doing a lot better, however, whenever I go to the pet store and look at the cats that are up for adoption from the local shelter, I feel like I’m cheating on my cat. So, I don’t think we’re ready just yet to adopt another little feline.

1. the zoo snake was a boa and nagini is a python
2. the snake Harry set free was really grateful to him and they even had a friendly conversation, I don’t recal Nagini being so friendly or talktive

First off, the snake that Harry set free is not a boa, it’s a burmese python. Secondly, it’s a male, Nagini is a female. Thirdly, neither boas nor pythons are “poisonous.” No snake is poisonous, however, they can be venomous. Nagini was the latter.

Topic- Alcohol

This year I made a difficult choice- I decided to stop drinking alcohol altogether. None during parties. None with dinner. None for family get-togethers. None for New Year’s Eve. Absolutely NO alcohol will touch my lips or make its way into my body whatsoever. The reason why I chose to change this part of my life, even though it wasn’t THAT big of an aspect, was because alcoholism runs rampant in my family. Both my older brother and father were/are alcoholics. I suppose once you’re alcoholic, you’re an alcoholic for life.

Anyway, my dad had stopped drinking alcohol over 20 years ago, but has recently started drinking again. This saddens me immensely, especially since he’s my brother’s main caretaker (I’ll write a blog about THAT sometime soon). Fortunately my brother hasn’t had a drink in about three weeks because he’s so busy with school.

I suppose that my culture has a lot to do with alcohol. I’m Mexican American. Throughout my childhood, when celebrating my birthday or my siblings’ birthdays, there were definitely more kegs than children around. It wasn’t a celebration ‘till alcohol was involved!

I’m the type of person who learns from other’s mistakes, and thanks to my psychology background, I tend to look at familial reactions to a person’s behaviors. I see how my mom reacts to both my dad and my brother’s drinking. I see how hurt she was when my sister went on a 3 month drinking binge after she had broken up with her boyfriend. I don’t want my mom to look at me in that way. I also don’t want to be that sloppy drunk. I value my brain too much. Hell, I’ve spent way too much of my own money AND the government’s money to fuck up my brain now.

So, that’s my own personal reasoning behind not drinking alcohol. Sure, I could drink on occasion- during parties and whatnot, but there’s a fine line that separates the social drinker from the alcoholic. Plus, I don’t want to look at social events as a reason/excuse to drink.

Today, Harper is not only alive — she’s thriving. The frisky gray puppy is gaining more and more mobility each day, to the astonishment of onlookers and medical professionals.
